Tradition of Outstanding Service
Larned Fire & Rescue, boasting an ISO rating of 4.0, has been operating as a volunteer fire department within Pawnee County since 1876. The department maintains a tradition of outstanding service to the City of Larned by delivering fire protection and fire prevention education.
With a total staff of 25, the department ensures the highest level of training needed to keep fire personnel prepared for any event. Most volunteer fireman answer the call either because they have a desire to help their community, their family, and friends, or because they get true satisfaction with the adrenaline rush that goes along with firefighting.
Service Area
The department serves 10.5 Townships in Pawnee County, covering 378 square miles in the rural district. The department provides mutual aid assistance to the cities of Burdett, Garfield, and Rozel as well as surrounding counties.
